We shared additional updates this week including eligibility for Office 365 A3 and A5 faculty customers and removed the 300-seat purchase minimum to empower organizations of all sizes. We’re already seeing innovative organizations like The University of Hong Kong, The University of Manchester, and GEMS Education lead the way as early adopters. And on January 1, 2024, education faculty and staff became eligible to purchase Copilot for Microsoft 365. Copilot with commercial data protection will be available to all faculty and higher education students who are 18+, including users of our free offers. Last month, we were thrilled to announce several Microsoft Copilot expansions for education audiences. Bringing the future of productivity to education And earlier this week we outlined Microsoft's position and themes for policymakers to consider around advancing youth online safety and wellness. As part of our continued work to build AI literacy, we’ve launched our latest course for educators and a new learning path on Microsoft Learn. We’re also sharing news about AI built for education such as Reading Coach and features designed to free up time for educators and personalize learning. This includes expanded Copilot for Microsoft 365 availability and Loop coming to education. ![]() Once the voices for the new languages are downloaded, go to Narrator settings, and select your preferred voice under Personalize Narrator’s voice > Choose a voice.Today, we’re announcing the next wave of AI innovations from Microsoft Education that will help unlock productivity and personalize learning. This will take you to the Speech settings page. Under Personalize Narrator’s voice, select Add more voices. The following table explains what languages and text-to-speech (TTS) voices are available in the latest version of Windows. Depending on your internet connection speed, the new voice will be downloaded and be available for use in a few minutes.Īfter downloading the new voice, navigate to Narrator settings and select your preferred voice from the drop-down menu in Narrator’s voice > Choose a voice. Select Install to begin downloading the chosen voice. Select Preview to hear a preview of the voice. Only the U. At this point, you can choose whatever language you like from a selection that is displayed on the screen. Select the Choose a language link and click it if you want to discover what other languages are supported. You will automatically see the voices for your current display language. If you have started the installation from the Narrator starting window, this button will be highlighted. The Add button, which is displayed after the speed, pitch, and volume options for the presently selected voice, can be activated from here. Next, you should proceed to the Choose a Voice combo box and then click the button that says " Show All Settings" just below the combo box. Note: If you have dismissed the dialog, use the hotkey CTRL + Windows + N to access the Narrator settings. Select Install now on the announcement window to go to Narrator Settings. Narrator will announce that more natural voices are available when you open Narrator. The following table lists the available languages/accents along with the names of male and female TTS voices. Narrator now supports male and female natural voices for few commonly spoken languages and accents. Once the voices for the new languages are downloaded, go to Narrator settings, and select your preferred voice from the dropdown menu in Narrator’s voice > Choose a voice. The new voices will download and be ready for use in a few minutes, depending on your internet download speed. Select the language you would like to install voices for and select Add. Under Narrator’s voice, select Add legacy voices. Open Narrator settings by pressing the Windows logo key + Ctrl + N. To use one of these voices, add it to your PC: Note: Narrator provides male and female natural voices for few commonly spoken languages and accents, refer to section Natural voices. ![]()
